Modulo5 is an all-Italian project born in 2003 from an idea by DJ Dave Masoch. Dave, founder in 1998 of Masoch Club Entertainment together with DJ Michael Myers and producer in 2001 of a compilation by the same name for Plastic Records, is also responsible for the 2 volumes of a compilation titled Stasera Shake on Boss-A-Tone Records, associated to the well known Misty Lane Records.
In 2001, 2002 and 2003 he was co-ordinator and manager for 3 editions of the Hipster Expo 60s Festival in Trieste (Italy). The first 2 productions as Modulo5, released on the compilation EZ Lounge FM by DJ Robert Passera, were titled Check-In All'Aeroporto and Spy Samba. These two tracks were the starting point for what is now a well-defined project.
Following a short break from music production, due to a continuous search for sound influences to be inspired by, in 2006 Dave met Paolo 'Apollo' Negri, a famous and widely appreciated organ player devoted to Hammond Groove. Dave met Paolo during a gig by Italian hard rock band Mastica, with whom Paolo is still collaborating. Paolo 'Apollo' Negri's CV is very impressive, having worked with bands like Link Quartet, Wicked Minds, Kims Teddy Bears and David Stockdale.
After a quick chat Paolo decides to accept Dave's proposal of being part of Modulo5. After 3 months of hard work the 10 tracks inside Soundsational Movements were completed. The intent of this album is what everybody is looking for while listening to music: get emotional from original and intense sounds and groove. Dave and Apollo would like this record to be a sort of ideal soundtrack for listeners.
Among the sounds that influence Modulo5 are Space Age Pop, 50s Sci-Fi movies, Soul and Funk, Hammond Groove, Bossa Nova, Italian B-Movies from the 60s and Italian Soft-Core cinema from the 70s.
